This bothers me, I have been dwelling on it. It seems to cut right to the heart of a modern malaise.
But I can't express it. I want to say, "You ARE your body! Don't be a fool!" But I don't quite believe it, because I sort of believe in the soul also. But surely, if the soul exists, its pure expression is...
There must be some way to be both. Birdsong, a cool breeze, soft clean sheets. An orgasm! Surely there is some enjoyment to be had in the physical, before we ascend to heaven, where there is no weather, and no diarrhea?
I agree that there is/must be a way/we already are both things. What I find bonkers, and what made me write about this, is that I can't seem to actually indentify with both at once...but I think it takes practice mentally confronting that confusing idea before it sticks.
